A working cottage, not a show home

Portis Cove Cottage has stood on this field since 1841, and it still looks like it. Thick stone walls, a wood burner in the sitting room, and a kitchen built for cooking whatever came off the boats that morning. The cliff path starts at the back gate and drops to Portis Cove in about eight minutes — steep enough that the beach empties out even in August.

Three bedrooms sleep six: a super-king with the best sea view in the house, a twin that suits kids or a second couple, and a single that doubles as a reading room. Both bathrooms were rebuilt in 2023 — one has a bath positioned squarely at the window.
